Helio G80 vs Helio G90T: CPU, GPU and Manufacturing Process
Starting the comparison with CPU section, here both SoCs got an octa-core CPU based on 64 bit memory architecture. Speaking of the CPU of Helio G80, it features 2 ARM Cortex-A75 Performance Cores clocked at up to 2GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 Efficiency Cores clocked at up to 1.8GHz.
On the other side, MediaTek Helio G90T incorporates 2 ARM Cortex-A76 Big Cores operating at up to 2.05GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 Little Cores running with a maximum clock speed of up to 2GHz.
Here MediaTek Helio G90T has better CPU architecture along with a better clock speed because of which it offers a better CPU performance than the Helio G80 SoC. So in the case of CPU performance, MediaTek Helio G90T is a better chipset in comparison of MediaTek Helio G80.
Coming to the GPU part, here for gaming, MediaTek Helio G90T integrates an ARM Mali-G76 3EEMC4 clocked at up to 800MHz and it is coupled with MediaTek Hyper Gaming Technology, while on the other hand, the Helio G80 got an ARM Mali-G76 3EEMC4 operating at up to 720MHz clock speed.
Here both chipsets have same GPUs, but the Helio G90T has a better clock speed because of which it can deliver a better gaming performance compared to the Helio G80. So here also MediaTek Helio G90T is a better chipset than the Helio G80.
For a long time, MediaTek is not doing any improvement in Manufacturing process of its chipsets. Here both, MediaTek Helio G80 and Helio G90T use 12nm manufacturing process because of which both use same power.
Helio G80 vs Helio G90T: Camera, Display, RAM & Storage
Coming to camera and optics, here the Helio G80 can support up to 16MP + 16MP dual cameras at 30fps and single camera up to 25MP at 30fps as well as up to 48MP at 17fps.
On the other side, MediaTek Helio G90T got the support for 24MP + 16MP dual cameras at 30fps and up to 48MP single camera at 30fps as well as up to 64MP at 22.5fps.
Here also MediaTek Helio G90T has better camera support than the Helio G80.
Speaking of display than the Helio G80 supports up to Full HD+ displays at 60Hz while the Helio G90T can handle up to Full HD+ displays at 90Hz.
RAM & Storage
Here MediaTek Helio G80 supports up to 8GB LPDDR4X Dual Channel RAM clocked at up to 1800MHz and eMMC 5.1 based storage while MediaTek Helio G90T supports up to 10GB Dual Channel LPDDR4X RAM clocked at up to 2133MHz and UFS 2.1, eMMC 5.1 based storage.
Helio G80 vs Helio G90T: AI
For handling AI tasks, MediaTek Helio G90T got a dedicated Dual MediaTek APU clocked at up to 750MHz while the Helio G80 doesn’t feature and dedicated APU. So here also MediaTek Helio G90T is better than the Helio G80.
Helio G80 vs Helio G90T: Conclusion
